Hearing Specialists and Hearing Aids in Temple, TX

Our Temple office serves patients across Bell County and Central Texas, including Temple, Belton, Killeen, Harker Heights, Salado, and the surrounding communities along the I-35 corridor between Austin and Waco. Located on Canyon Creek Drive, the office is positioned to make hearing care accessible for a region that includes a significant retired military population, active-duty service members and their families, and longtime Central Texas residents.

Hearing loss is especially common in the Temple area for reasons that go beyond age. Years of noise exposure from military service, industrial work, farming, and outdoor recreation all contribute to hearing changes that often start gradually and progress over time. Our Temple clinic was built to give Central Texas residents access to the kind of clinical hearing care that does not require a drive to Austin or Waco, and to provide it in a setting that respects the experience and preferences of the patients we serve.

Every patient at our Temple office is seen by a licensed hearing specialist and receives care developed under the direction of Dr. Keith Darrow, a neuroscientist who holds a Ph.D. from a joint Harvard Medical School and MIT program focused on how the brain processes sound. That research background shapes every protocol we use. When you come to our Temple office, your treatment plan is built on peer-reviewed clinical science, not a sales script.

Our services include comprehensive hearing evaluations, tinnitus assessments and management, prescription hearing aid fittings for both invisible and traditional devices, and ongoing treatment care. If you are dealing with persistent ringing in your ears, struggling to follow conversations, or noticing that you are turning the TV up louder than you used to, our team can help.

Every treatment plan comes with affordable monthly payment options, 0% financing, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Hearing Care Services in Temple

Hearing loss treatment

If you find yourself asking people to repeat themselves, struggling in restaurants, or having trouble following conversations at family gatherings, you may be experiencing hearing loss. Our Temple hearing specialist performs comprehensive evaluations to determine the type and degree of your hearing loss and build a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Tinnitus treatment

Tinnitus, persistent ringing, buzzing, or humming in your ears, is one of the most common conditions we treat at our Temple office, particularly among veterans and patients with a history of noise exposure. Our neuroscience-based approach evaluates your tinnitus clinically, identifies contributing factors, and builds a management plan designed to reduce its impact.

Hearing aids in Temple

When hearing devices are part of your treatment plan, our hearing specialist fits you with prescription hearing aids calibrated specifically to your hearing profile. We do not sell hearing aids off a shelf — we prescribe them based on your evaluation and program them to match your hearing loss pattern. The result is a device that delivers clearer hearing in the environments that matter most to you.

Invisible hearing aids

Our invisible hearing aids sit deep inside the ear canal, custom-molded for comfort, and are virtually undetectable when worn. For patients who have been hesitant to seek treatment because they did not want a visible device, invisible hearing aids are often the right starting point.

When people say it’s hard to get good service nowadays, well it doesn’t apply to these guys.

– Paul Kalugdan

Justin and Bailey are amazing! I had a great experience at their office with the treatment of my tinnitus. I was told by numerous “specialists” that they couldn’t treat my tinnitus, until I found them. I’m so thankful I found the Hearing and Brain Centers!

– Brian B

I have been a patient of this clinic for a long time, and always have had excellent care and felt compassion here. The new provider, Justin, and front office person, Bailey, are fabulous. These 2 make a great team and work together to ensure the patients are heard, well cared for and succeeding with Hearing and Tinnitus treatment. If you are in need of help in these areas, this is where you need to go!

Frequently asked Questions

Is noise-induced hearing loss from military service common, and can it be treated?

Yes, noise-induced hearing loss is one of the most common service-connected conditions for veterans, particularly those who served in combat arms, aviation, or artillery roles. While the underlying nerve damage cannot be reversed, the right combination of prescription hearing devices and clinical management can significantly improve hearing and reduce the impact of any associated tinnitus. Many of our Temple patients are veterans, and we are familiar with the patterns of hearing loss most common after extended noise exposure.

Do you work with VA benefits or community care referrals?

We are happy to walk through your options. While we are not a VA facility, many veterans use private hearing care through community care referrals or supplemental benefits, and our Temple office can help you understand what your benefits cover. Call us with your specific situation and we will give you a straight answer.

What is the relationship between hearing loss and tinnitus?

The two often go hand in hand. When the ear no longer sends a full range of sound signals to the brain, the brain sometimes generates its own, that is what tinnitus is. Most patients with tinnitus also have some degree of hearing loss, even if they have not noticed it yet. Treating the underlying hearing loss often reduces the volume and intrusiveness of the tinnitus significantly.

How can I tell if my hearing has gotten worse, or if I just need to clean out my ears?

Both are possibilities, and both are worth a check. Excessive earwax can mimic the symptoms of hearing loss, feeling muffled, hearing seeming “off” in one ear, intermittent issues. A comprehensive hearing evaluation rules out wax-related issues and gives you a clear picture of what is actually happening. If wax is the problem, that is often a quick fix. If it is genuine hearing loss, you have the information you need to decide on next steps.

Do you see patients of all ages, or only older adults?

We see patients of all ages. Hearing loss can affect anyone, children, adults working in noisy industries, veterans, retirees. Our Temple office regularly sees patients in their 30s and 40s as well as patients in their 70s and 80s. There is no age threshold for getting a hearing evaluation.

How accessible is your Temple office?

Our Canyon Creek Drive office is ground-floor accessible with dedicated parking. We have appointment rooms designed to be comfortable for patients with mobility considerations, hearing dogs, or family members accompanying them. If you have specific accessibility needs, call ahead and we will make sure your visit goes smoothly.
