Audiologists and Hearing Aids in Valley Stream, NY
Our Valley Stream office serves patients across Nassau County, the south shore of Long Island, and the bordering Queens neighborhoods. Located on West Lincoln Avenue in central Valley Stream, our clinic is easy to reach whether you live in the immediate area or are coming from Lynbrook, Oceanside, Elmont, Floral Park, Garden City, or anywhere across central and southern Nassau.
Long Island has a deep history of hearing aid retailers and big-box hearing centers, but specialized clinical hearing care, the kind backed by neuroscience research and ongoing treatment plans, has been harder to find. Our Valley Stream office was built specifically to fill that gap. We are not a retail hearing aid store. We are a clinical practice that prescribes, programs, and supports prescription hearing devices as part of an ongoing treatment relationship.
Every patient at our Valley Stream office is seen by a licensed specialist and receives care developed under the direction of Dr. Keith Darrow, a neuroscientist who holds a Ph.D. from a joint Harvard Medical School and MIT program focused on how the brain processes sound. Dr. Darrow’s research at the Eaton Peabody Lab at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary contributed to the development of next-generation auditory technology, and his protocols guide every aspect of patient care at our office.
Our services include comprehensive hearing evaluations, tinnitus assessments and management, prescription hearing aid fittings for both invisible and traditional devices, and ongoing care adjustments. Whether you are noticing the early signs of hearing loss, struggling to follow conversations at family gatherings, or living with persistent tinnitus, our Valley Stream team can help.
Every treatment plan comes with affordable monthly payment options, 0% financing, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. No patient is turned away because of cost.
Hearing Care Services in Valley Stream
Hearing loss treatment
If you are asking people to repeat themselves, struggling in restaurants, or finding family conversations harder to follow than they used to be, you may be experiencing hearing loss. Our Valley Stream audiologist performs comprehensive evaluations to determine the type and degree of your loss and build a treatment plan tailored to your daily life.
Tinnitus treatment
Persistent ringing, buzzing, or humming in your ears can affect your sleep, concentration, and quality of life. Our neuroscience-based approach evaluates your tinnitus clinically, identifies contributing factors, and builds a management plan designed to reduce its impact over time.
Hearing aids in Valley Stream
When hearing devices are part of your treatment plan, our audiologist fits you with prescription hearing aids calibrated specifically to your hearing profile. We do not sell hearing aids off a shelf, we prescribe them based on your evaluation and program them to match your hearing loss pattern. The result is a device that delivers clearer hearing in the environments that matter most to you, paired with the ongoing clinical care that retail providers do not offer.
Invisible hearing aids
Our invisible hearing aids sit deep inside the ear canal, custom-molded for comfort, and are virtually undetectable when worn. For Valley Stream patients who have been hesitant to seek treatment because of how a device might look, invisible hearing aids are often the right starting point.

“When it came time to replace my hearing aids, Omar recommended that I switch to the over the ear hearing aids. That was great advice! I am glad I “listened” to him! He also was meticulous in getting me the best fit possible. These are the best and most comfortable hearing aids I’ve had so far.
I just went in for a hearing and brain checkup and as always it was a great experience. Omar and Chynna are friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and professional and I highly recommend them and the Hearing and Brain Center!“– Jonathan Katz

Frequently asked Questions
Is your office accessible by public transportation or LIRR?
Our Valley Stream office is located in central Valley Stream, just a short walk from the Valley Stream LIRR station on the Babylon Branch. For patients commuting from Queens, Brooklyn, or other parts of Long Island who prefer not to drive, the train is often the easiest way to reach us. Parking is also available for patients who do drive.
How is HBCA different from the hearing aid stores I see throughout Nassau County?
Long Island has many retail hearing aid outlets, big-box dispensers, and chain hearing centers. The difference comes down to the clinical relationship. Most retail hearing centers focus on selling devices, your follow-up care, adjustments, and ongoing treatment are typically charged separately or limited. At HBCA, your monthly treatment plan includes ongoing care, programming adjustments, cleanings, and support for as long as you are a patient. We are a clinical practice, not a hearing aid retailer.
Do you accept insurance plans common on Long Island, like Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, or United Healthcare?
We work with most major insurance plans, including the carriers most common in Nassau County. Coverage for hearing aids and hearing care varies significantly by plan, even within the same insurer. Call our Valley Stream office before your appointment and we will verify your specific benefits so there are no surprises.
What if I commute into the city for work, can I still get follow-up care here?
Yes. Many of our Valley Stream patients work in Manhattan or commute through Queens. We schedule appointments in early morning and late afternoon slots when possible, and many follow-up adjustments can be handled remotely once your devices are programmed. We will work with your schedule, not against it.
I bought hearing aids years ago and barely use them anymore. Can you help?
Absolutely. This is one of the most common situations we see. Hearing aids that were poorly fit, never properly programmed, or have not been adjusted as your hearing changed often end up in a drawer. Bring them in to your evaluation. In many cases, we can reprogram, refit, or otherwise rehabilitate older devices and get you back to using them. If a new device is the better path, we will tell you that too, and explain why.
How long do appointments typically run?
First visits at our Valley Stream office run about 60–90 minutes. That includes the hearing evaluation, conversation about your symptoms and goals, results review, and a clear walk-through of treatment options. Follow-up visits and adjustments are typically 30–45 minutes. We schedule realistically so you are not waiting past your appointment time.
